Weight: 127 lbs (57.606 kgs)
Description: Summer F. Barkley is a twenty-nine year old Caucasian female of German descent. She is somewhat short and slim, standing at roughly 5'7" and weighing in at 127 lbs consistently. Summer's notable facial features include brown, shoulder-length hair, dark blue eyes, and a noticably petite nose. Typically, though, her face lacks any amount of physical expression of emotion other than for the purpose of work-related operations. Her skin is decently fair, and does not tan easily when exposed to the sun.
Due to the nature of her work, in most cases, Summer's clothing is generally the same both on and off duty. Her style choices usually appear to be fairly casual in nature, wearing either long denim jeans and hoodies on colder days, and wearing short-cut shorts and a t-shirt combined with a small, light jacket on hot days. Summer can also be found frequently wearing a shemagh or scarf arround her neck, as well as a pair of fingerless gloves.
Psychological Profile
Personality: Summer tends to be a quiet and abrasive individual. Those who have interacted with her generally report a calm demeanor, and a general sense of confidence that is often mistook for being egotistical. She is incredibly straight forward, and has a reputation for making no effort to sugarcoat her thoughts on people, their ideas, and their morality. Summer is, however, still capable of forming close bonds, albeit only a select few have ever managed to be considered her "friends" since her time joining the Foundation. It's generally believed that her harsh nature is a direct result of a combination of both her Father's death, as well as her line of work and the terrible things she's seen while on-duty.
Underneath it all, though, Summer has an incredibly strong sense of loyalty. This sense of loyalty was what allowed her to comfortably fit into undercover positions for long periods of time, as well as why she was sought after by the Internal Security Department despite her success within the Department of Applied Intelligence. It is this sense of loyalty that allows her to continue working in undercover positions, both in infiltrating groups of interest, as well as keeping watch over Foundation personnel.
Strengths:
Creative
Summer exhibits a strong sense of Creativity, able to work through problems and situations in ways most would not typically think of.
Persistent
Summer is somehwat stubborn in nature, but uses it to her advantage. She is a strong believer in seeing things to the end, especially when it's work-related. Once you get her started on a track, she'll be there until the end.
Manipulative
As a member of the Internal Security Department, operating undercover in a Department known to use undercover tactics, and given their experience with undercover work, Summer is notably good at telling believable lies and remaining undetected.
Weaknesses:
Identity
Being someone caught in the world of undercover work, it's quite easy to lose a sense of self. After all, how easily can you remember who you are, when all you do is pretend to be somebody else?
Arrogant
Young hearts lead to arrogant minds. When people show a visible amount of intellectual or physical inferiority, Summer is certainly not afraid to use it against them, which can often lead to some friction.
Pessimistic
Summer is absolutely what one would call a "pessimist". She has a generally poor outlook on the future, and of people in general, operating under the belief that people are inherently evil and must rise to become good, rather than the belief that good people fall to evil.
Fears:
- Abductophobia
- Merinthophobia
History
Summer Barkley was born to Liam Barkley (second-generation Irish immigrant) and Hannah Bauer (first-generation German immigrant) in Weatherly, Pennsylvania. In her childhood years, her mother made it a point to teach her both English and German. Unfortunately, at age seven, Summer's father would experience a fatal collision with a drunk driver, leaving her with only her mother to raise her. As a direct result of her father's death, Summer's grades in school fell, leading to her mother being distraught over not knowing how to raise a child on her own. In an attempt to help her mother, Summer resorted to manipulating other students and lying to her teachers in order to improve her grades, a tactic that would become almost second nature to her. This behavior continued even throughout her high school years, allowing her to complete advanced courses without ever doing much schoolwork or studying.
When the time came, Summer was motivated by the death of her father to study Criminology, and applied to work at the Philadelphia Police Department. After completing the nine-month Police Academy training course, Summer went on to do her 18 month on-the-job probationary period as a rookie patrol officer within Philadelphia. At age 21, Summer would officially become a P2 ranking police officer, and officially allowed to patrol on her own. A year later, she would graduate from the University of Philadelphia with a Bachelors Degree in Criminology, allowing her to begin working as a detective trainee alongside her normal patrol duties.
On one particular night, while patrolling for a midnight shift, Officer Barkley was dispatched to an abandoned house due to a 911 hang-up call. When she arrived, she discovered a particularly gruesome murder scene. As the primary police officer for the investigation, Summer would begin looking into leads regarding the murder, which would prove to be a struggle due to the victim's injuries making them hard to identify. As she worked this case, she would accidentally catch the attention of the Foundation who, unbeknownst to Summer, believed the case to be anomalous in nature. The Foundation was able to successfully intervene in the investigation, taking it over and eventually solving it themselves. However, in an effort to upkeep the Veil of Secrecy, the Foundation made use of amnestics within the Department and spread the cover story that Officer Summer Barkley had successfully solved the case herself. Her closeness to this case, however, proved concerning enough to the Foundation to officially mark her as a Person of Interest (POI-1034).
Following the "success" of her investigation, Summer would be boosted to the rank of Detective within the Police Department. Using her natural ability to lie and manipulate, she would go on to operate as an Undercover Detective, usually going on long-term jobs to bring down major drug rings and collect intel on gang activity. However, Summer would once again get close to another case that was too close to the Veil of Secrecy for the Foundation to feel comfortable with. After taking over the case once again, the Foundation determined the criminal activity to be related to a group of Sarkites, whom Summer had somehow infiltrated without any knowledge of the anomalous. Summer, alongside the rest of the Department, was amnestized to entirely forget about the entire investigation. Immediately after, the Foundation launched an investigation into Summer as POI-1034 due to her repeated activity adjacent to the Veil. This investigation determined that she was not in any way related to any Groups of Interest or anomalous in nature, and was somehow able to continually make her way into cases close to the Veil of Secrecy. Due to this, the Summer Barkley was flagged for recruitment, and the investigation was dropped.
Two years following the investigation into POI-1034, an official employment offer was extended to Summer, and she was placed into the Department of Applied Intelligence as an Agent-In-Training, stationed at Site-322 within Philadelphia. She was not, and will remain uninformed about the cases she worked on close to the Veil of Secrecy. Summer would go on to serve as an Agent-In-Training for one year before being promoted to Field Agent and placed into the Infiltration and Gaslighting Division. Watching her successes closely, the Internal Security Department of Site-322 would make an official transfer request for Summer, which was met with extensive debate. The debate was cut short when Summer put in a facility transfer request to Site-19, wishing to stay in close proximity to her mother who had moved to Mississippi. The request was approved, and Summer was given the ability to assist the Internal Security Department of Site-19 under the watchful eye of the Department of Applied Intelligence's Director K.V.K "Ganymede" while still operating within the DAI.

Roleplay Sample
When doing undercover work, it's hard not to be mentally tense for every second that ticks by. It's good, even, it keeps you aware, lets you see things you might've missed, keeps you from being caught off guard.
It keeps you alive, and alive is good.
What you cannot be, however, is physically tense. Sometimes, some groups were idiots, they couldn't spot a red fruit loop in a bowl of cheerios. Behind the veil, though? Everyone here was on edge, and when you're undercover, even an Iota of doubt could get you caught. The smallest bit of hesitation, insecurity, unawareness. You could get lucky, and that fraction of a second might mean nothing. If you weren't lucky, though, you'd risk outting yourself as a member of the Foundation. The Foundation is a powerful group, no doubt, but there's little they can do for your life when your embedded deep in the heart of a Sarkic Cult or Chaos Outpost. Out here, in this line of work, your only friend is the fake smile you wear on your face.
