Operation Fossilization Briefing
Briefing: On December 24th, at roughly 1100 hours, the Global Occult Coalition notified the SCP Foundation of a failed anomaly termination attempt. While unable to provide specific details as to what the anomaly was, they did say that it is a killing machine which needs to be taken care of immediately. On Christmas morning, reports of people missing and strange occurrences flooded the Ihantala region. While not confirmed, we have reason to believe the cause of these events is the reported anomaly. Despite the GOC's insistence that the entity be terminated ASAP, the Foundation is still interested in containment if possible. As such, Mobile Task Force Delta-5 “Front Runners” is being deployed for recontainment of the rogue anomaly, or containment of an anomaly that may be different, assuming that is the cause of the problems in Ihantala.
Delta-5 will first be deployed under the guise of a foreign police force, collecting information from the locals who have submitted some of the reports received in recent time. Should the anomaly be located at any time, Delta-5 will have access to their gear in order to handle the anomaly. Your orders are to attempt to contain the anomaly, but are permitted to terminate it if deemed necessary. We can't let it terrorize the civilians any longer.
Objectives:
- While undercover, question the Ihantala locals about their missing persons reports and other strange occurences
- If possible, locate and secure any civilians who have been reported as missing
- Locate and contain (or terminate if necessary) any anomalies located in the Ihantala region
